Made in Eswatini by Quazi Design, a design studio founded in Mbabane in 2010, the MBABANE footed bowl transforms unsold magazines and newspapers into a sculptural decorative object.
Raised on a pedestal, MBABANE creates a sculptural silhouette in terracotta. Approx. 29 cm wide and 20 cm high, with a 12 cm pedestal, it gives shape to a coffee table, console or shelf arrangement.
Designed as a decorative object, it can hold jewellery and small items or stand alone as a sculptural piece. It is not intended for food contact or liquids.
The paper is pulped, shaped by hand, sun-dried and coloured with water-based finishes. Small variations in each piece reflect its handmade character. Quazi Design is a founding member of SWIFT, Eswatini’s fair trade organisation.
Pair it with the TITSELO bowl for a decorative arrangement, or with the SISULU mask to continue the interplay of materials. Explore our papier-mâché pieces in the wall décor and small objects collection.
