Radiance, balance, and expression — UMBALA brings together three colored ceramic plates in a composition designed like a painting.
Each box set includes a small dessert plate, a large plate and a presentation plate, forming a trio of shapes and shades carefully orchestrated by Clementina van der Walt, a leading figure in contemporary South African ceramics.
Inspired by Suprematism, Clementina approaches tableware as a visual and sensory ritual.
Her pieces, all hand-shaped and hand-painted, bear the marks of the hand and the moment: irregularities, textures, and nuances that are celebrated as a human signature.

About the artist
Clementina van der Walt is a major figure in contemporary South African ceramics. For over 30 years, she has been developing a unique world between craftsmanship and art, blending organic forms and graphic patterns.His work is regularly exhibited in renowned galleries such as the Southern Guild Gallery (Cape Town), The Gallery at Grande Provence (Franschhoek), as well as at numerous international fairs. His works are also part of public and museum collections, notably at the Iziko South African National Gallery and the Corobrik Ceramics Collection Museum.
