In Malta, Carla Grima’s drawings take shape in the Mediterranean Ceramics workshop. These handleless ceramic mugs pair a cylindrical silhouette with a glossy finish. Against the terracotta ground, prickly pear pads bring shades of green and small red fruits; the other design has a mottled turquoise border. Offered as a pair, they make room for morning coffee or tea together. Subtle variations in shape and decoration reflect the work of the maker’s hand.
Sold as a set of two mugs in the same design. Choose “Prickly pear” or “Terracotta - turquoise border”. Each mug measures 11 cm high and 9 cm in diameter.

The set contains two mugs in the same design. Slight variations are possible as each piece is made by hand.
Dishwasher safe on the glass programme at a maximum of 45°C. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the lustre of the artisanal glaze. Use a soft sponge and a non-abrasive detergent, then rinse and dry carefully.
Mediterranean Ceramics × Carla Grima
Carla Grima’s drawings are interpreted at the Mediterranean Ceramics workshop in Malta, where the pieces are made by hand. The decoration draws on the flora and colours of the Mediterranean. Slight variations in shape, colour and finish may occur from one mug to another.
Pair these mugs with a linen tablecloth and plaited coasters to give their decoration room to stand out. The green prickly pear design works with plant fibres; the turquoise border echoes blue table linens. Each set contains two mugs in the same design.
Preparing your order
- Orders are prepared within 1–2 working days, except during special periods. We dispatch from Belgium, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
- We use environmentally responsible packaging: cardboard and kraft paper, keeping plastic to a minimum.
Delivery
- Delivery to Belgium and other EU countries usually takes 2–5 working days after dispatch, except during special periods.
- Free delivery on orders of €50 or more to Belgium, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
- Free delivery on orders of €200 or more to our other EU destinations.
- Below these thresholds, charges depend on the destination and the weight and size of the parcel. The amount is shown before you confirm your order.
- For deliveries within the EU, prices include VAT and there are no customs charges to pay.
Returns
- You have 14 days after receiving your order to request a return using the contact form or your customer account, followed by a further 14 days to send the items back.
- Returns from Belgium are free. For returns from our other delivery destinations, a flat fee of €8 is deducted from your refund.
- If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, Studio Matongé covers the full return cost, regardless of your country.
- We always provide a return label, so you do not have to pay any return charges upfront.
