KEY FEATURES
- Authentic vintage indigo with deep shades
- Handcrafted embroidery and fringed finishes
- Unique piece, no cover is identical
- Combination of African textile heritage and Belgian craftsmanship
- Timeless bohemian chic elegance

The ZABUNI-ZARI cover is made from vintage indigo cotton textiles, spun, woven, and dyed by hand in West Africa. Each piece is then embroidered and assembled by hand in Belgium, in small series.

Its deep indigo, aged over time, reveals subtle shades and a vibrant texture. The floral embroidery and side fringes highlight its artisanal character and give it a chic bohemian elegance, both warm and contemporary.

In this collection, the embroidery follows a logic similar to kintsugi : they accompany the repairs and patchwork of the indigo textile, transforming the marks of time into decorative elements.
Rather than erasing the fabric’s scars, they enhance them, in a spirit close to wabi-sabi, where imperfection becomes a form of beauty.

Each textile bears the marks of its history: color variations, natural irregularities, and signs of time. These unique features give the fabric its character and guarantee the uniqueness of your piece.

In the 30 × 50 cm, format, it structures a light-colored sofa, warms up a linen armchair, or dresses a bed with white sheets.

To be paired with other indigo cushions such as  BUUM-ZARI, or contrasted with white bogolan models like UPENDO, for a refined mix & match.

Inner cushion sold separately.

Artisanal embroidery and manufacturing in Belgium.
Produced in very small series, each piece is unique.

A second life for textiles
The fabrics used for this collection are vintage indigo textiles that have already stood the test of time.
Rather than erasing their marks, Studio Matongé chooses to repair and highlight them. The embroideries accompany the fabric's patchwork, turning each repair into a decorative element.
This approach evokes the spirit of kintsugi, where imperfection becomes a form of beauty and each piece tells a unique story.

To pair with noble materials such as a mud cloth, washed linen, deep velvet, or the merino wool of the TANGGOOR throw.
Magnificent in contrast on a light sofa, or mixed with other indigos to create a chic, bohemian, deep, and refined atmosphere.
