The Kenana Knitters products offered by Studio Matongé are made from pure merino wool, handcrafted in an eco-friendly manner. The wool is collected from local farms in Kenya, then hand-spun by spinners using old bicycle wheels – no machines, no assembly lines. Everything is handmade!
Then washed with mild soap and dyed with plant-based pigments (beetroot for coral, dahlia flowers for yellows, red cabbage for blue, etc.), the wool reveals rich and natural colors.
Each piece – whether it is a plush toy or a decorative item – is entirely knitted and sewn by hand with exceptional care by the cooperative's artisans.
