A playful shape, long legs to hold and cheerful colours: MAXIME is an endearing crocodile soft toy, hand-knitted in Kenya from GOTS-certified organic cotton. Available in thirteen bright colours: khaki, grey, taupe, chocolate, coral, pink, citrus, cobalt, turquoise, grass green, sunshine yellow, orange and bubblegum pink. Choose approx. 30 cm (S), easy for little hands to hold, or approx. 40 cm (M) for bigger hugs. A lively companion to give and treasure.
Knitted and sewn by hand by the women of Kenana Knitters, a social enterprise founded in 1998 by Patricia Nightingale in Njoro, in Kenya’s Rift Valley. Created to provide opportunities for rural women, it now supports more than 300 knitters and 200 spinners. Depending on the colour, the cotton is left in its natural, undyed ecru shade or coloured with azo- and cadmium-free dyes.
Each piece is signed by the woman who knitted it. Small variations in colour or shape make every soft toy unique.

A tip for parents
Keep a spare of your child’s favourite comforter to avoid tears and make it easier to alternate between washes.
Preparing your order
- Orders are prepared within 1–2 working days, except during special periods. We dispatch from Belgium, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
- We use environmentally responsible packaging: cardboard and kraft paper, keeping plastic to a minimum.
Delivery
- Delivery to Belgium and other EU countries usually takes 2–5 working days after dispatch, except during special periods.
- Free delivery on orders of €50 or more to Belgium, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
- Free delivery on orders of €200 or more to our other EU destinations.
- Below these thresholds, charges depend on the destination and the weight and size of the parcel. The amount is shown before you confirm your order.
- For deliveries within the EU, prices include VAT and there are no customs charges to pay.
Returns
- You have 14 days after receiving your order to request a return using the contact form or your customer account, followed by a further 14 days to send the items back.
- Returns from Belgium are free. For returns from our other delivery destinations, a flat fee of €8 is deducted from your refund.
- If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, Studio Matongé covers the full return cost, regardless of your country.
- We always provide a return label, so you do not have to pay any return charges upfront.
