A rounded brontosaurus with a reassuring presence, NESSIE is a dinosaur soft toy hand-knitted in Kenya from natural wool. Available in three sizes: S, 25 cm, easy for little hands to hold; L, 50 cm, for big hugs; and XXL, 70 cm, a substantial companion that doubles as a cuddly cushion on the bed. Signed by its knitter, it is a piece to give and treasure for years.
Each piece is knitted and sewn by hand in Kenya by the women of Kenana Knitters, a social enterprise based in Njoro. The wool comes from small Kenyan farms that do not practise mulesing. Depending on the colour, the wool is left undyed or coloured with plant-based dyes or conventional azo- and cadmium-free dyes.
Each piece is signed by the woman who knitted it. Small variations in colour or shape make every soft toy unique: a piece to give, treasure and pass on.

PARENT TIP: NESSIE the dino is available in 3 sizes. Enough to satisfy all the siblings when they want the same comforter, but not exactly the same.
Preparing your order
- Orders are prepared within 1–2 working days, except during special periods. We dispatch from Belgium, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
- We use environmentally responsible packaging: cardboard and kraft paper, keeping plastic to a minimum.
Delivery
- Delivery to Belgium and other EU countries usually takes 2–5 working days after dispatch, except during special periods.
- Free delivery on orders of €50 or more to Belgium, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
- Free delivery on orders of €200 or more to our other EU destinations.
- Below these thresholds, charges depend on the destination and the weight and size of the parcel. The amount is shown before you confirm your order.
- For deliveries within the EU, prices include VAT and there are no customs charges to pay.
Returns
- You have 14 days after receiving your order to request a return using the contact form or your customer account, followed by a further 14 days to send the items back.
- Returns from Belgium are free. For returns from our other delivery destinations, a flat fee of €8 is deducted from your refund.
- If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, Studio Matongé covers the full return cost, regardless of your country.
- We always provide a return label, so you do not have to pay any return charges upfront.
