A knitted blue striped top, a long shape and a mischievous gaze: MALO is a cat soft toy with nautical charm, hand-knitted in Kenya from GOTS-certified organic cotton. Its elongated 38 × 18 × 6 cm shape is easy for little hands to grasp by the legs. The signature blue striped top contrasts with the ecru body. A gift for a new baby or a child, to treasure for years.
Each piece is knitted and sewn by hand in Kenya by the women of Kenana Knitters, a social enterprise based in Njoro. Depending on the colour, the cotton is left in its natural, undyed ecru shade or coloured with azo- and cadmium-free dyes.
Each piece is signed by the woman who knitted it. Small variations in colour or shape make every soft toy unique.

Each soft toy is unique and may vary slightly in shade, design or pattern. These differences are part of its individual character, rather than flaws.
LET'S TALK ABOUT COMFORTERS: - Should you get several comforters? Feel free to get several copies of your child's favourite comforter to avoid the drama that the absence or loss of their comforter can cause for your baby. - How many comforters should you get? Many parents choose to have 2 or even 3 similar soft toys, rotating their use so that all of them absorb familiar scents and wear out at the same rate. - What are the advantages of having several comforters? This way, their child is never separated from their favourite companion. Each one can, for example, be dedicated to a specific place or use: the home comforter, the daycare comforter, and the backup comforter. - This technique also makes it easier to wash each comforter when necessary.
Preparing your order
- Orders are prepared within 1–2 working days, except during special periods. We dispatch from Belgium, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
- We use environmentally responsible packaging: cardboard and kraft paper, keeping plastic to a minimum.
Delivery
- Delivery to Belgium and other EU countries usually takes 2–5 working days after dispatch, except during special periods.
- Free delivery on orders of €50 or more to Belgium, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
- Free delivery on orders of €200 or more to our other EU destinations.
- Below these thresholds, charges depend on the destination and the weight and size of the parcel. The amount is shown before you confirm your order.
- For deliveries within the EU, prices include VAT and there are no customs charges to pay.
Returns
- You have 14 days after receiving your order to request a return using the contact form or your customer account, followed by a further 14 days to send the items back.
- Returns from Belgium are free. For returns from our other delivery destinations, a flat fee of €8 is deducted from your refund.
- If an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, Studio Matongé covers the full return cost, regardless of your country.
- We always provide a return label, so you do not have to pay any return charges upfront.
